Stewardship & Finance Report 2017

In the month of September 2017, the Stewardship and Finance ministry started a letter campaign for the 2017 giving pledges. The theme of the Stewardship campaign for 2017 was “Discovering the Unexpected Blessings of Change”. The Stewardship letter campaign packets were mailed in early September contained a letter from the Stewardship and Finance Ministry and a giving card.

In the months of October and November the budgeting process began. A balanced budget was presented to council on November 14, 2016. The 2017 pledges of $185,016 were up 5.7% compared to $175,000 in 2016. There was enough in the budget to give the employees raises and to put $3,518 into the deferred maintenance account. The balance budget was presented to the congregation on December 17, 2017 and the 2017 balanced budget was approved at the Fall Congregational Meeting.

The 2017 financial statements showed Pilgrim ended $26,363 ahead of the 2016 budget. The income was ahead of budget by $22,671 while the expenses were under budget by $3,692. This resulted in a net income of $26,363.
