Pill Bottle Collection

Did you know that amber colored pill bottles—commonly used for medications—are too small for curbside recycling? Fortunately, they can be reused in meaningful ways.

In many parts of the world, medications are dispensed in whatever container is available—sometimes just a scrap of paper. Clean, resealable pill bottles are a luxury that can make a real difference in safe medication distribution.

Matthew 25: Ministries is a company in Ohio that accepts donations of clean, empty, recapped, label and residue-free plastic pill bottles for inclusion in shipments of medical supplies. Their pill bottle program fulfills the dual needs of improving medical care in developing countries and caring for our environment.

There is a  collection container in the narthex for donated amber colored pill bottles.  These donated bottles will be forwarded to Matthew 25: Ministries

What to Donate

    • Amber colored prescription bottles only

  • All labels must be removed.
  • Bottles must be washed in soapy water to remove any sticky residue
    • Bottles must be clean and dry, with caps on the bottle

  • If you can not get rid of the sticky residue, please discard the bottle.

If you bring bottles to donate in a baggie or other container, please dump them out into our container and take your baggie or box back home.
